Diamond Day-Parker is a 2019 graduate of the College of Social Science and the Interdisciplinary Studies program with a concentration in Health and Society. Born and raised in Flint, Michigan, she credits her hometown as one of the driving factors behind her eventual career path.

Professor at Michigan State University Dr. Fayyaz Hussain recently received the Tomeh Award from the North Central Sociological Association. The Tomeh Award is given annually to recognize an NCSA member who has demonstrated outstanding service to the association, either through a single exceptional activity or throughout his/her professional career.

Dr. Brandy Ellison is settling into her role as the Director of the Center for Integrative Studies (CIS) at Michigan State University, a role she started in fall 2023. Ellison has been a faculty member in CIS since 2018. Prior to that, from 2015-2018, she served as the director of student success in the College of Social Science.
