The Integrative Social Science (ISS) core curriculum provides an interdisciplinary introduction to the body of knowledge, theory, practice, and methods that the social sciences bring to an understanding of the human condition.
Upon completion of the ISS course sequence, you will be able to:
- Identify established disciplinary ways of knowing within the social sciences and integrate these perspectives and methods around complex social issues.
- Expand your personal perspectives around shared and complex problems to better understand and include the diverse perspectives of others.
- Identify ways to use social scientific thinking to positively affect your own life, your local and global communities, other disciplines, and/or your career fields.
University Requirement
To fulfill MSU graduation requirements, you must successfully complete one 4-credit ISS 200 level course and one 4-credit ISS 300 level course.
Successful completion of an ISS 200 level course is a prerequisite for enrollment in an ISS 300 level course.
There are no prerequisites for enrollment in ISS 200 level courses. ISS 300 level courses are restricted to students who have completed at least 28 credits.
