Abigail Livingston, a fourth-year Honors College student majoring in interdisciplinary social sciences and environmental studies and sustainability, has been nominated by Michigan State University for the prestigious Marshall Scholarship.

She is among four College of Social Science and 12 university nominations. Livingston is a Social Science Scholar and also a past nominee for the Udall Scholarship and Pugh the Truman Scholarship, respectively.
“Abigail has cared deeply about the environment for as long as she can remember," said Social Science Scholars Program Director John Waller. "Since arriving at MSU, she has worked diligently to acquire a deep knowledge of environmental science, a sophisticated understanding of human behavior and group dynamics, and the experience of working with and for diverse communities. She has grown into someone with all the makings of a highly effective future environmental policy-maker.”
The Marshall Scholarship supports approximately 50 of the most outstanding scholars in the country to study at any university in the United Kingdom. The College of Social Science has an impressive history of wins and nominations for prestigious awards such as the Marshall Scholarship. University-wide, Michigan State has produced 20 Marshall Scholars to date.
