Students looking to add an ISS course this fall can enroll in ISS 315, section 302: Global Diversity and Interdependence, a late-start class that begins Sept. 28.
Part of the Study Away Michigan Series, the eight-week experiential learning course explores cultural diversity and sustainability through food cultures while giving students hands-on experience in documentary filmmaking. The program includes three phases: campus-based research and planning, fieldwork and filming in Detroit during Fall Break (Oct. 23-27), and film editing back on campus through Nov. 18.
The $350 program fee covers transportation, hotel accommodations and film/editing equipment. Classes meet Mondays and Wednesdays from 8:30-9:50 a.m. in Berkey Hall, Room 12C.
