Dr. David Baylis

Assistant Professor David Baylis holds a BS/BA degree in Geography and Political Science from Aquinas College and an MS (2009) and PhD (2015) in Geography from Michigan State University. He was awarded a Fulbright Hays Fellowship to study the relationship between gender and environment in Ankara, Turkey (2014). Prior to returning to Michigan State University as an Assistant Professor in CIS-SS, Dr. Baylis spent several years teaching at Delta State University in the Mississippi Delta and later at the University of Arkansas in Little Rock.  At MSU, he teaches Introduction to Interdisciplinary Studes (SSC 299) and Qualitative Interdisciplinary Research Methods (SSC 495). His primary interests are in the realms of monster theory, popular geopolitics, and the historical geographies of horror. Once a spooky kid, always a spooky kid.
